Editorial Illustration – Leonardo Di Caprio

The article discussed Leonardo Di Caprio winning an Emmy Award (Oscar).

Audiences (myself included) were surprised that Leonardo Di Caprio had not won an Oscar before The Revenant, for his brilliant portrayal of other memorable characters. The image was designed and created for Risograph printing.

Behind the scenes

Original artwork was tested on white paper with yellow and black printing inks.

I wanted to emphasise the glamour and art deco feel of Hollywood, which we also associate with Leonardo Di Caprio through his portrayal of F.Scott Fitzgerald’s character Gatsby, through the use of printing the artwork onto black paper and using specialist printing inks of metallic gold and white.
